Our Annual Fundraising Event Calendar

If you’re organizing a fundraiser for a school, organization, club, team, or community group, you know that timing is everything.

In the years we’ve spent working with fundraisers in Canada, we’ve learned that the most successful organizers make sure to schedule their events at optimal times to maximize their earnings. We built our fundraising event calendar based on those learnings.

Wondering when to launch a fundraising campaign? Read on to get our top fundraiser scheduling tips for campaigns in Canada. We’re also thrilled to share our tried-and-true fundraising events calendar to help you set your schedule this year.

When to Launch a Fundraising Campaign

To maximize profits, we recommend that fundraisers in Canada schedule their events during one of two distinct periods — either in the early spring, or in the fall before the holidays. However, the best timing for your group will depend on a range of factors. Here are a few considerations to think about as you plan your next campaign.

Volunteer Availability

Think about when your participants will have the most time free to dedicate to your fundraiser. Pay attention to school and vacation schedules, as well as key dates in your organization’s calendar.

Volunteers are key to a profitable fundraiser. Remember, just a few extra participants or a few more dollars raised per team member can add up fast. Read more about making bigger profits in your next fundraiser here.

Key Holidays

Holidays can give your fundraiser a much-needed boost by helping your group market your fundraiser. Consider timing your event to coincide with a gift-giving holiday such as Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day to drive donations to your cause. Your community will love the opportunity to purchase a gift that gives back.

Product Availability

Some fundraising products are seasonal, so groups can only sell them at a certain time of year. While seasonal items may limit your timing window, these products are often desirable and result in high profits.

At Indeygo, our seasonal offerings include planters and hanging baskets in the spring, as well as veggie bundles and free-range turkeys twice a year in the spring and fall. These products are locally grown, and we offer them exclusively to groups in Calgary and Edmonton.

We support fundraisers in Canada throughout the year, but our schedule follows a seasonal calendar. Here’s an overview of our annual fundraising events calendar to help you plan yours.

January – March: Spring Fundraisers

When it comes to fundraising, spring starts earlier than you might expect. We recommend that your group begins planning your spring campaign in January or February so you’re prepared to kick off sales in March. Choose from our popular Scoop & Bake Cookie Dough, products from Rocky Mountain Soap Co., Premium Loose Leaf Tea, and a range of other great options.

January – Mid-February: Valentine’s Day Cookie Dough

There’s no sweeter Valentine’s Day gift than cookie dough. If your group is interested in receiving orders in time for February 14, plan your sale for mid-January.

March – April: Free-Range Turkeys and Veggie Bundles (Calgary and Edmonton only)

For groups in Calgary and Edmonton, we offer our popular veggie bundles and free-range turkeys twice a year. Our spring sale is always scheduled to ensure that your orders arrive in time for Easter. Both our turkeys and veggie bundles are grown in Canada, so you can feel good about selling high-quality local products in your community. April – May: Spring Planters for Mother’s Day (Calgary and Edmonton only)

Each spring, we offer planters, hanging baskets, and herb gardens — all delivered just in time for Mother’s Day. It’s the perfect way to raise money for a cause and make the moms in your life smile.

September – October: Free-Range Turkeys and Veggie Bundles (Calgary and Edmonton only)

We bring back free-range turkey and veggie bundle sales each fall so you can enjoy these great local products in time for Thanksgiving dinner. If you’re located in Calgary or Edmonton, it’s the ideal fundraiser to start the school year.

October – December: Fall Fundraisers

If fall is the best time for your campaign, kick it off in September or October. Wrap up by November and we’ll make sure you get your deliveries in time for the holidays. Who doesn’t love a holiday cookie dough delivery?
