How do case lot products affect my profit calculations?
If you are selling a case lot Product (Frozen Cookie Dough or Frozen Muffin Dough), you may see a negative number in your Dashboard at the very start of your Fundraiser. This is because the cost of the case lot (containing 6 units) may exceed the profit of the sale (e.g. 1 unit).
Your Total Profit is calculated as Total Sales - Total Cost of Goods.
For example:
The Cost of a case of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough is $114 (6 x $19).
The Sale Price per pouch of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough is $29.
The Profit per pouch of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough is $10.
If you have only sold one pouch of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough, your profits will be calculated at:
$29 - $114 = -$85
However, as soon as you sell a full six-pouch case lot of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough, your profits will be maximized!
If you have sold six pouches of Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough, your profits will be calculated as:
$174 - $114 = +$60
